The Visionary
was first published in this edition of Godey's Lady's Book, published
in January 1834.
The Lady's Book
This
facsimile of the front cover of the magazine is
possibly a deeper blue than the original. A scanned
image of the cover was edited using Adobe Photoshop,
and the "auto levels" feature rendered
the faded blue of the facsimile into this bolder
blue. Yellowing of
the white lace was removed where possible.
The Lady's Book featured
stories, poems, and ads for ladies' fashions, similar
to
that above.
